SUZY GAUSSENT MINIATURES

RASUL PULATOV MINIATURES
Rasul PulatovAn artist of miniatures painting. Was born in Tashkent, 1966. In 1985 graduated from the Benkov Republican Arts College. With his lacquer miniatures participated in the republican and international exhibitions in USA , Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, India, Germany and etc. The winner of the silver medal of Moscow EXPO Russia.

The range of the characters of his miniatures are not so wide. Thee are musicians, dervishes, lovers, guests at the aprty, warriors and cameleers. Nevertheless, more intent sight can open the wider world: in reality, the painter reveals the Universe where the world is the creative work of Allah – The God, where each tree and flower save their unpronounced secret. And inside this Universe the world is sophisticated, wonderful and miraculous. This is the world of a human being. The main features of these creations are the mediatativeness and philosophical contemplations when it is so attractive to disappear from the vanity to the world of beauty but of a special beauty, full of the piquant Oriental exotics, national traditions, religious world vision, everyday life details, dresses and environment.

Now RASUL POLATOV works in his workshop in Abulkasim madrase, room 23, near the blue-domed Oliy Majlis — Uzbek parliament building.

KOSHIB OMONOV MINIATURES

Koshib OmonovAn artist of miniatures painting. Was born in Tashkent, 1965. In 1986 graduated from the Benkov Republican Arts College. With his lacquer miniatures participated in the republican and international exhibitions in Germany, Japan and etc. The owner of a silver medal of republican competition of young talents. This artist has the longstanding experience in eastern miniature painting. His artworks show that he has mastered brilliantly the technique of the eastern miniature. He constantly perfects this style of painting, creating his own individual style. His illustrations for the collection of poems by poets of the East, reflect his stylistic discoveries. Now he works in his workshop in Abulkasim madrase, near the a building of Parliament of Republic.

UZBEK MINIATURE PAINTING
Miniature painting is an essential part of artistic expression in Uzbekistan, where the miniatures are admired for their rich creative imagination and perfect execution. The Uzbek miniature is one of the most interesting genres in the century-old history of oriental art. Mostly used for book illustrations, it has been developing under the influence of classical oriental poetry. In Tashkent’s public green space situated between two busy wide roads lined with high blocks of flats, just behind Istiklol Concert Hall and Oliy Majlis, or Uzbek parliament building., there is a remarkable old building. This is Abdulkasim Madrassah, whose carved doors are always open for visitors interested in antiques and Uzbek traditional arts and crafts. Today, the resonant sounds of engravers’ hammers and scratchy accompaniment of wood-carvers’ chisels are heard from these cells. Inside the cells, watched by curious tourists, calligraphers, nakkosh and mussavir artists paint Oriental miniatures and decorative patterns on little varnished papier-mâché boxes and pencil-cases. You can buy any of the works by these artists right here first hand.

Khiva, Boukhara, l’apotheose,
Domes bleu turquoise, quelle splendeur!

Medersas, mausolees et minarets,
Splendeurs d’architecture, de mosaiques,
Samarkand, la fascinante, nous plait
Et nous invite aux dances folkloriques.

Adieu, marches aux parfums enivrants,
Un petit tour de metro a Tachkent,
La fameuse place du Reghistan,
Les travaux uniques des artisans.

Fini du voyage et de cette harmonie,
Il nous faut deja rentrer en France,
Et rejoindre notre capitale Paris,
Au revoir, pas adieu, joli pays!
