Custom rules in Uzbekistan

Useful information about customs rules in Uzbekistan. What to bring to and what to take out from Uzbekistan, how to fill Customs declaration form.

Guests arriving to Uzbekistan as well as residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan can import the following items to the territory of a country:

  • pharmaceuticals for personal use: insulin and other antidiabetic medicaments with limited amount of 30 packages. The indicated amount of medicines permitted for once importation is determined on the basis of approximate calculation of the amount of 10 ampoules or 30 tablets (capsules and other dosed pharmaceuticals) per a package. If a package contains more pharmaceuticals total amount of ampoules and tablets should be taken into account in accordance with the provided list. Сonsumer goods of total cost not exceeding the amount equal to 50 (fifty) dollars US if these goods are imported for personal use from territories of contiguous countries. These goods are not charged at the customs;
  • goods of total cost not exceeding the amount equal to 1000 (thousand) dollars US if these goods are imported for personal use from territories of non-contiguous countries including Ukraine. These goods are not charged at the customs (VTA, customs duty, registration fee);
  • goods for personal use are subject to excise duty in the limits of non-excise importation if these goods are imported from territories of non-contiguous countries.


What You Can Bring

  • foreign currency unlimited amount (must be declared on the T-6 form);
  • 1,000. cigarettes or 1,000. grams of tobacco products;
  • 1,5 liters of alcoholic beverages and 2 liters of wine;
  • reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use

What You Can Not Bring

  • photographs and printed matter directed against Uzbekistan;
  • live animals (subject to special permit);
  • military arms and ammunition;
  • narcotics (opium, hashish, etc.);
  • fruit and vegetables.

Do Not Take Out

  • firearms and ammunition;
  • precious metals (gold, silver, etc.) and articles made thereof, except if such articles are personal effects of the passenger (e.g. personal jewelry) and declared upon arrival;
  • articles containing precious stones and/or real pearls;
  • antiquities and art objects (subject to duty and special permit from the Ministry of Culture);
  • furs.
     

Foreign currency in cash in unlimited amount declared in a customs declaration, Form T-6 in duplicate upon entering Uzbekistan. Customs officials will review and stamp both copies. One will be retained by the Customs Authority, you must keep the other and present at the time of departure from Uzbekistan. The amount of cash taken out of Uzbekistan should not exceed the amount indicated on the customs declaration on arrival. In order to export more cash than was imported, one must have special permission from the National Bank of Uzbekistan. Those who understate the amount of currency on their declaration form upon departure from Uzbekistan face fines and confiscation of their unreported money. Foreign currency imported in cash in the amount of 5000 dollars US or equal amount of other currencies is allowed to be imported to our country with obligatory filling out a customs declaration; foreign currency in cash in the amount exceeding the equivalent of 5000 dollars US is allowed to be imported into the Republic with Certification TC-28 issued by customs authorities. As per request of a resident or non-resident foreign currency in cash can be deposited for storage with a receipt TC-21 free of charge;
